Plain language on what we do - and, more importantly, what we don't.
Your images are processed entirely in your browser. They are never uploaded to our servers, never stored, and never scanned.
ChromVel uses WebAssembly to decode and re-encode your images directly on your device. The files you drop never leave your machine - there is no network request carrying your images, and nothing for us to log or leak.
Because conversion happens locally, we never see your photos. We don't build image datasets, we don't train models on your files, and we don't share anything with third parties - because we never have them.
Checkout is handled by Creem, a Merchant of Record. They process your payment and tax details; we only receive confirmation that your plan is active. We never store your card number. Subscription emails (including renewal reminders) are sent by Creem on our behalf.
We use Umami, a minimal, cookieless, open-source analytics service, to understand aggregate usage trends (page views, not file contents). It sets no cookies, collects no personal data, and does not track you across sites. We also count aggregated, anonymous technical outcomes — for example a file-size bucket and whether a very large conversion succeeded — to improve large-file handling. These counters contain nothing that identifies you or your files, and no file names are ever recorded. You can use the entire free tool with no account and nothing tracked beyond that.
By using ChromVel you agree to the following plain-language terms:
1. Service. ChromVel provides browser-based image conversion tools. The free plan converts up to 15 images per batch (100 MB each); Pro raises batch and file limits as described on the pricing page.
2. Your content. Your images stay on your device. You retain all rights to your files - we claim none.
3. Acceptable use. Don't use ChromVel to process content you have no right to process, or to violate any applicable law.
4. Subscriptions. Pro is a monthly subscription that renews automatically until cancelled. Cancel anytime from your account center - access stays active until the expiry date. We'll email you one month before renewals. Payments, taxes and refunds are handled by Creem as Merchant of Record.
5. Warranty & liability. The service is provided "as is". We're not liable for any data loss or damages arising from use of the service.
6. Changes. We may update these terms; material changes will be announced on this page.
